I am healed. The thing that was wrong is no longer wrong. I feel the difference in my body like the lifting of a weight I had carried so long I had forgotten it was there. I move without pain. I breathe without effort. I think without the interference of physical discomfort. My body has done what bodies know how to do — it has repaired itself, restored itself, returned to its natural state. I am grateful to it. I take care of it now with a new attentiveness, the attentiveness of someone who has understood what health means by briefly not having it. I am strong. I am well. My body is my ally.
