Sleep Like a Child

Alai55
Audio not yet rendered for this scene.
I remember how I used to sleep as a child easily, completely, without carrying tomorrow into tonight. I have that again. I feel my shoulders drop. My jaw unclenches. The thoughts I brought to bed with me are not urgent. They can wait. Nothing requires my attention at this hour the world will still be there in the morning, and I will be more useful to it after real rest. I choose rest now. I feel the pillow beneath my head, the weight of the blanket, the dim quiet of the room. My breathing deepens. I am letting go. I am sinking. I am at peace.
